Police raids roll up cannabis farms…

A MAN has been arrested after police seized more than 130 cannabis plants from two properties in Doveton and Mulgrave last Wednesday.
The 20-year-old man, from Mulgrave, faced Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Thursday where his case was adjourned.
It’s understood police raided the Mulgrave property in Grantham Terrace first, around 7.30am on Wednesday, seizing more than 100 cannabis plants in different stages of growth and arresting the 20-year-old.
Their investigation then led police to a second property in Banksia Street, Doveton, around 3.30pm where another 24 plants were seized.
It’s believed both operations were linked.
The arrest comes after police seized another large amount of cannabis with a combined street value of $1 million earlier this month, from properties in Berwick and Cranbourne North.
Police raided both houses as part of an ongoing investigation, but it’s not believed the Berwick and Cranbourne raids are linked.
A 44-year-old man was arrested after the property was raided in Baddeley Circuit, in Cranbourne North, on Thursday 8 January.
A 20-year-old man was also arrested on Thursday 22 January after police raided the second property in Venables Court in Berwick.
Narre Warren Police Detective Senior-Constable Andrew Pybus said it was good to get the cannabis “off the streets”.
